Recruitment and Retention Specialist

The Agricultural Education Program at CALS is seeking applications for the position of New York State Agricultural Education Recruitment and Retention Specialist. This specialist will be an integral part of the New York Agricultural Education Outreach team, responsible for providing educator support, coordinating statewide initiatives, and assisting with program development. A key focus of this role will be to support New York’s agricultural educator recruitment and retention efforts. The specialist will offer both initial and ongoing support to new educators and develop resources aimed at advancing agricultural education programs statewide.
This position will oversee recruitment initiatives and promote agricultural education, as well as New York’s secondary teacher certification pathways. The specialist will work directly with secondary and post-secondary students, educators, and administrators to advance agricultural education in New York State and promote teaching career opportunities within agricultural education to a wide range of audiences, both traditional and non-traditional.
This is a full-time, remote position with moderate travel required across New York State, as well as occasional travel to out-of-state conferences. The appointment is for one year, with the possibility of extension based on funding and performance.
